Caletón Blanco is located in the north of the island, close to Órzola. You will find a mix of white sandy beach, black lava rocks and crystal blue water that is perfect for swimming as it is quite shallow and calm most of the times. There are some natural pools created by the tide that can be perfect as splash pools for small kids.
In the north of Lanzarote this unspoilt beach offers picturesque views of the turquoise water, lava rocks and white sand dunes. It is usually quite windy but you can be protected by the rock towers and enjoy the tranquility. This area is popular with nudists and locals due to its privacy. As there are no facilities only the parking, take some food and water with yourself to be able to fully enjoy this amazing beach.
Located 50 minutes walk from the ferry port of La Graciosa, Playa la Francesca offers amazing views of the north coast of Lanzarote. It is an unspoilt beach with white sand and calm turquoise water, that is divided into two parts by a natural stone dam creating a little lagoon during high tides. There are frequent ferries from Lanzarote, departing from the port of Órzola to La Graciosa or you can take part in one of the organised trips to the island.
Located on the north side of La Graciosa island, Playa de las Conchas is one of the most picturesque, untouched beaches with light sand and transparent crystal clear water playing in all shades of blue and turquoise. Although you will need to walk 45 minutes walk from the ferry port, it is well worth the effort. There are frequent ferries from Lanzarote, departing from the port of Órzola to La Graciosa or you can take part in one of the organised trips to the island.
Playa del Jabillo is located in Costa Teguise, in the east side of Lanzarote. It is a 150 meters beige sandy beach surrounded by water breakers making this beach ideal for swimming, snorkelling and learning to dive. El Jabillo offers shower, toilet, life guard, parasol and lounger hire and plenty of restaurants and cafes nearby.
Playa las Cucharas is located close to the centre of Costa Teguise. It is a 650 meter long golden sandy beach with crystal clear water. As it is usually windy, you will find plenty of wind-surfers and surfers in the water. It is perfect for families looking for some fun as there are many water sport facilities around and the promenade with restaurants and bars just beside the beach and it offers shower, toilet, life guard and sun lounger hire.
The third beach of Costa Teguise is Playa Bastián, it is perfect for families to relax due to its tranquility. Although it can be hard to access the water due to the large stones covering the beach, it offers great facilities like showers, toilets, parasol and lounger hire and there are cafes and restaurants around.
It is a paradise for surfers, wind-surfers and kite-surfers but due to the fine sand it is great place for sunbathing as well. Due to the strong wind and currents it is not safe to swim in the waters most of the time. There is a parking and life guard by the beach and you will find cafes and restaurants in the nearby village of Famara. Even if you are not a surf enthusiast you will be mesmerised by the picturesque stretch of sand dunes against the cliffs of El Risco, Lanzarote's highest peak.
One of the golden sandy beaches of Puerto del Carmen, although it is small in size, only 90 meters long, it offers calm clear waters for families and it is one of the best spots for snorkelling. Facilities include toilets, life guard, beach lounger hire, water sports and diving school. If you love snorkelling this is the place for you!
As the name suggests, Playa Grande is one of the largest beaches of Lanzarote, located close to the centre of Puerto del Carmen. It has gold sand, shallow waters and abundance of facilities including showers, toilets, sport area, water sports, life guard, parasol and lounger hire, cafes and restaurants by the promenade and it offers access for people with reduced mobility.
One of the most popular beaches on the island as it is over 1km long with nice golden sand and only 15 minutes walk from Puerto del Carmen's centre. Although the water is not as turquoise as some of the Playa Blanca ones, this beach has plenty of facilities and is perfect for families who would like to relax.
Located in the centre of Playa Blanca, Playa Dorada is a man made beach with golden sand, transparent turquoise water that is usually calm. Offering great facilities like parking, showers, toilets, sun lounger hire, life guard, watresports and restaurants and shops at the promenade.
Flamingo beach is located in the south of the island, in the Playa Blanca. It is a perfect place for families with small kids as the water is shallow and tranquil, the sand is fine and there are plenty of facilities like showers, toilets, sun bed hire and cafes and bars close by.
Papagayo Beach actually stands for a series of little coves, covered with golden sand blown over from the Sahara. You will need to pay a small fee at the entrance of the Los Ajaches Natural Park that is going against the maintanance of the park. You can access the beaches via a dirt road that is quite rocky but you will see it’s worth the discomfort of the bumpy road. There are several beaches along the shore that are highlighted with signs.
Another one of the Papagayo beaches is Playa de Mujeres. It is the first beach that you will see signed when driving through the national park. Playa de Mujeres is the biggest of the Papagayo beaches with gold sandy beach, turquoise water and huge rocks surrounding the cove. Please note that there are no facilities on this beach only the parking, the closest facility is the restaurant on the cliff top of Playa Papagayo.
